Biography
Raised in Newnan, GA, Tracy attended Newnan High School where he played tennis and participated in Drama Club. During his time at the University of Alabama, Tracy earned a Bachelors of Arts in both Criminal Justice and Political Science. He also interned with the Coweta County District Attorney's Office and the Tuscaloosa District Attorney's Office. Tracy then continued his education by obtaining his law degree from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School.
Tracy began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Coweta Judicial Circuit. There he helped in establishing the Gang Intelligence Network as well as training prosecutors and law enforcement officers in investigating and prosecuting gang cases. Tracy was also the head of the Coweta Child Protocol that aided in the investigation and prosecution of allegations of child physical and sexual abuse. Tracy then moved to the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office where he served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in both the Trial Line Division and the Sexual Exploitation and Crimes Against Children Unit.
Tracy has always maintained a strong work ethic and sense of justice that he utilizes in serving his clients. His experience as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney provides him with the tools necessary to ensure that the rights of his clients are protected from arrest to trial. Capital cases, gang cases, child cases and even certain drug cases demand specialized skills, training and experience to defend due to their complex nature. Tracy has successfully resolved cases from traffic citations to murder. Every client and case are important to him and he strives to always remain accessible throughout the process and make sure that his clients are informed during every phase of representation.
In addition to his criminal law practice, Tracy has a passion for all aspects of entertainment law and helping emerging artists, producers, writers, directors and actors obtain the maximum exposure and income for their art. Musicians and singers often focus on obtaining a recording contract without understanding the true terms including creative decisions, advances, artist royalties, ownership rights, distribution agreements, recording terms and commitments and ancillary income. Making music is often about passion and a labor of love but with the right representation can also be a very viable career. In the era of streaming services taking over cable and reducing numbers at the box office, actors, producers, writers and directors need someone who can understand the industry and the value of any project and negotiate the best possible deal to obtain the greatest access to the public and the greatest return on their investment. Tracy's extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry, intense desire to help clients realize their dreams, and razor sharp focus make him one of the best negotiators in the industry.
